A small aircraft that crashed Saturday afternoon in Maple Ridge, B.C. encountered some kind of engine failure, officials said.
Bill Yearwood of the Transportation Safety Board said that engine failure caused some parts of the engine covers to blow off during flight.
The plane made a forced landing in the area of the Eighteen Pastures Golf Course about 5 p.m.
The pilot suffered non-life threatening injuries and a passenger was not injured.
The plane has been identified as a Seawind 3000 amphibian kit plane.
