FARNBOROUGH, United Kingdom – Farnborough International Airshow opens its skys on Monday July 19 for the 47th internationally acclaimed airshow where trade customers can discover the latest technological innovations and members of the public can witness great aviation in action.

With over 1,300 exhibitors from 38 countries, the airshow, organised by Farnborough International Ltd, is the World’s largest temporary exhibition covering 247 acres with anticipated attendance of 250,000 visitors from around the globe.

Highlight’s of this year’s show include the eagerly awaited International debut of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger airplane offering buyers from around the World the first opportunity to tour the aircraft. The flight-test airplane, ZA0003 will touch down at Farnborough on the Sunday prior to the show opening and will remain on static display through to midday July 20th.

Airbus will present in-flight demonstrations of its two flagships, the A400M and the A380. The A380, the World’s most modern and eco-efficient passenger aircraft in service today, will fly every day whilst the A400M will demonstrate its versatility and manoeuvrability from Monday to Thursday.

One of many additions to the 2010 Show is a Conference programme, developed for visitors by Farnborough International Ltd’s parent company, A|D|S. This ticketed conference programme runs from Monday the 19th to Thursday the 22nd and is based on core themes chosen for each day and introduced by keynote speakers.

Monday – Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills with the day theme of Aerospace.

Tuesday – Rt Hon Liam Fox MP, Secretary of State for Defence with the day theme of Defence.

Wednesday – Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science with the day theme of Space.

Thursday – Rt Hon the Baroness Neville-Jones, Minister of State for Security and Counter-terrorism with the day theme of Security.

On Saturday July 24 and Sunday July 25, the doors revert to manual for two public days which in 2008, attracted 150,000 adults and children. With great flying displays and added family attractions, thanks to Rolls-Royce children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Amongst other things there’s an aerospace treasure trail, the chance to meet the creators of the Blooodhound car and to see the future of aerospace through the Futures Pavilion.
