NTSB Investigating Landing on Taxiway in Atlanta

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the landing of a Delta B-767 on an active taxiway at Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport (ATL).
According to preliminary information received from several sources, on Monday, October 19, 2009, at 6:05 a.m. EDT, a Boeing B767-332ER (N185DN) operating as Delta Air Lines flight 60 from Rio de Janeiro to Atlanta landed on taxiway M at ATL after being cleared to land on runway 27R. No injuries to any of the 182 passengers or 11 crewmembers were reported. (more…)

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – JetSet Aviation Holdings SAS, a subsidiary of JetSet International Ltd., is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with SOCATA for the purchase and transfer of the type certificate and associated rights for the world’s first Very Light Jet (VLJ), the MS760 Paris Jet. Designed, manufactured and originally certified in France by aviation pioneer Morane-Saulnier (now SOCATA), the MS760 is a four-seat, twin-engine jet that cruises at 400 M.P.H. and has a range of 1,000 miles. Jazz Air LP withdraws Ontario Court claims against Porter Airlines Inc.

TORONTO – Porter Airlines Inc. (“Porter”) announced today that Jazz Air LP (“Jazz”) has withdrawn its claim for damages against Porter and certain of its affiliates.
In February 2006, Jazz had commenced a claim in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice seeking damages in excess of $10 million for, among other things, an alleged conspiracy and breach of the Competition Act. In its Statement of Claim, Jazz made wide ranging allegations of unlawful activity and bad faith, all of which have now been withdrawn by Jazz. Jazz is also responsible for the litigation costs that Porter incurred in having to respond to these claims. (more…)

NTSB Faults Pilot and FAA in Cessna Citation Crash

Washington, D.C. – The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that the probable cause of an aircraft that lost control and impacted water was the pilots’ mismanagement of an abnormal flight control situation through improper actions, including lack of crew coordination, and failing to control airspeed and to prioritize control of the airplane.
