Porter Airlines Increases Service to Quebec

QUEBEC – Today, in the wake of improvements to airline services at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport and in accordance with the trend of previous years, Porter Airlines begins its new schedule offering three daily return flights to Toronto’s downtown Airport. This decision satisfies Porter Airlines desire to provide yearly service to travellers from Quebec and the East of the province.

Pascal Bélanger, President and Chief Operating Officer of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport is very pleased with this good news. “This is proof of the success achieved and of the trust in the Quebec market “noted Pascal Bélanger.

After a record year in 2008, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport continues its growth in terms of flights and passengers. Now, following Porter Airlines’ decision, travellers have eleven daily flights departing for Toronto with Air Canada and WestJet having already entered the market.

Since November 1, 2000 Aéroport de Québec Inc. has been responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of the Jean Lesage International Airport. More than ten airlines provide it with several airline connections to North and South America, and to Europe of which more than 50 are direct daily flights without stopovers to the major hub airports of Eastern Canada and the United States, specifically Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, New York, Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago and more than 40 chartered international flights to southern destinations as well as Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux and Marseille.
