New Airbus A330-200 Freighter Takes To The Skies

First Cargo Plane to Land Prince George Airport

The Prince George Airport Authority is pleased to announce the arrival of the first 747 Aircraft for refueling.

The Boeing 747 Aircraft operated by Southern Air Inc. is scheduled to land Monday, November 16, 2009 at 1130 hrs. This aircraft will be arriving from Seoul, South Korea and onto Miami and then Caracaras, Venezuela. (more…)

Air New Zealand Orders Airbus A320s to Replace Boeing 737-300s

AirNewzealandFollowing an intensive and robust evaluation process, Air New Zealand has ordered 14 Airbus A320 aircraft to replace its existing domestic fleet of 15 Boeing 737-300s. The aircraft will be powered by IAE engines.

The A320, which is larger than the aircraft type it will replace, will enable Air New Zealand to increase capacity on routes that are starting to face capacity constraints at some airports during peak times. Air New Zealand has also placed purchase options for a further 11 A320 aircraft, including the possibility of selecting the larger A321. (more…)

Airbus Launches “Sharklet” Large Wingtip Devices for A320 Family

Airbus has launched its new “Sharklet” large wingtip devices, specially designed to enhance the eco-efficiency and payload-range performance of the A320 Family. Offered as a forward-fit option, Sharklets are expected to result in at least 3.5 percent reduced fuelburn over longer sectors, corresponding to an annual CO2 reduction of around 700 tonnes per aircraft.
