SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA – Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sydney Federal Support Services continue with their missing persons investigation for two individuals who were onboard a Cessna aircraft that went missing off the coast of Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Joint Rescue Coordination Center Halifax terminated it search for survivors on Saturday and turned the search for the wreckage over to the RCMP. Dennis Michael Forgeron (43) and Ronald David Johnston (57) both of Calgary, Alberta were onboard the 414A Cessna when it went missing over the Atlantic Ocean on August 5th. Both men are believed to have died in the crash.
The search for the wreckage continues today with two RCMP Vessels searching the Sydney coastline in the hopes of recovering any debris from the downed aircraft.
