Air France confirmed that flight AF344 Paris-Montreal on August 10th operated by B777 landed at the Canadian military base Goose Bay at 20.10 local time. Following a sudden and unexpected system failure alarm, the pilots, in accordance with procedures, decided to land at the nearest airport to ensure the safety of passengers and the aircraft. The 461 passengers are provided accommodation at the airport’s facilities.

To enable all passengers to reach their destination, an Air France B777-300 set out from Paris-Orly to Goose Bay, from where it ferried the passengers to Montreal.

Air France apologized for the inconvenience caused to its passengers and its customer care department will take appropriate commercial measures. The technical inquiry is in progress.
