August 24th, 2010 ~ No Comments

KELOWNA B.C – Military and civilian search and rescue personnel continue to follow up on any leads that might assist in locating an aircraft and its four male passengers that left Penticton but failed to reach Victoria last Tuesday.

“It may take another seven days to complete the primary search area and upwards of 25 days total, to compete the secondary coverage. The primary area is concentrated between Hope and Penticton while the secondary area extends to Victoria” said Capt. Marc Archambault, Canadian Forces pilot and assistant Search Master.

Anyone with any information which may assist in the search is encouraged to call a tip line at 1-877-907-5040.

Search and rescue aircraft today are:

• two Cormorant helicopters;

• three Buffalo aircraft;

• one Aurora: and

• six Civil Air Search and Rescue aircraft from CASARA.
